Academy of American Poets
The "Find a Poet" section currently includes biographies, photos, and other information on more than 450 poets, and the "Find a Poem" section includes more than twelve hundred poems, with new ones being added. Many are available in audio format as well as text.

The Biography Channel A&E Television Network has created an index to famous poets.  Search over 25,000 of the greatest lives, past and present. Includes brief biography, a list of the poet's work and related websites. Search by author's last name.

Representative Poetry Online
This excellent collection of the great poets of the English language includes about 2,500 English poems by 403 poets from Caedmon, in the Old English period, to the work of living poets today. Poetry has been selected with editorial comments by members of the Department of English at the University of Toronto from 1912 to 1996. Included is an extensive collection of criticism, both in verse and prose forms. The works are indexed by poet, title, date, keyword and first line.

Anthology of Modern American Poetry
A companion to the text, Anthology of Modern American Poetry, published by Oxford University Press. The 161 Poet Companion Sites Section includes  "excerpts from previously published analyses of poems, biographical information, relevant illustrations, manuscripts, drafts of poems, bibliographies, historical background, statements on poetics, interviews, mini-essays on important issues pertinent to the poet, book reviews, archival resources, and study questions."

American & English Poetry: 1250–1920
This superb poetry collection (at Bartleby.Com) contains numerous separate collections of poetry. The collections may be searched by keyword, and browsed via: Indexes to Poems: Chronologic, Author, Title, First Line. Designed to be easy to browse and enjoy, this site seems to be steadily growing.

This Web site features a number of poems each day, and also keeps them available for later reading. See also their Poems Index by Title, if you have a title of as poem you want to find.

Internet Poetry Archive
Offers selected poems from a number of living poets from around the world. The section for each poet includes audio clips of the poet reading several poems, the poet's comments on the works, a photograph of the poet and any other graphics that would help a reader understand the poem (e.g., a map or illustration of a particular place mentioned in the poem), texts of the poems, a critical biography of the poet prepared by a scholar familiar with the poet's work, and a short bibliography. Poems are presented in their original languages, as well as in English translation.
