Library TA's are a great asset to the library staff.  Their responsibilities are to help us maintain a neat and orderly library as well as to help us prepare books, both library and text, for student use. We highly regard and respect our students.

QULAIFICATIONS

Our TA's must have at least a C average, have excellent attendance, and be reliable.  Anyone interested in becoming a TA for the library should speak with Mrs. Abel to check on period availability.

DUTIES

Duties include putting specific shelves of books in their correct order, dusting library shelves and computer screens, shelving books, processing library and textbooks and any other tasks as needed.

GRADING

Grades are determined by attendance, positive attitude, and willingness to do accurately what is asked.  Each student has a daily assignment of a specific section of books to organize.  Once those books are in order, a staff member will check them.  The student grade is determined by the number of books out of place and is as follows:

Having the books in the correct order is critical to the efficient functioning of the library.  Only through accuracy is it possible for us to find books that the students need.  If books are out of order students will not be able to find their information and the usefulness of the library will be compromised.

ATTENDANCE

Attendance is critical.  Excessive absences and tardies will  result in a lower grade or withdrawal from the class with no credits earned.  This position must be viewed in the same manner as a job where excessive absences and tardies are not acceptable and often result in termination.  Please keep that in mind when deciding to be come a TA.  If you have an attendance problem, then do not consider working for us.

Any reliable student with a good work ethic is encouraged to apply.  We are looking for you.
